Why I bought a camper trailer

Some of my favorite memories growing up are from times our family took our camping trailer out to a nearby park for the weekend. After a long drive, we would wind off the highway, hauling our dear camper trailer off road to what became a favorite spot for my siblings and I. This experience was a fundamental part of our growing up, it shaped who we are, how we interact in difficult situations, the way I relate to the outdoors. That's probably part of the reason I started looking at camper trailers for sale recently. I wanted to capture that same feeling again, remember what it was like to get outdoors, experience the parts of Australia I don't get to see much anymore. Off road Australian camper trailers, those ruggedised pieces of metal, are most appealing. There's something about that possibility of escapism that they symbolise, what camper trailers and camper tents offer that makes them so much more than what I see in a tent or those massive RV's that resemble a band's touring bus more than anything that offers a sense of wild adventure. With the new camping trailer I bought, it's more of a way to bring the outdoors of Australia closer than ever. My commuting car, more used to rushing me to work, becomes the means to escape on the weekend as soon as the trailer hitch is connected. That's a freedom I haven't been able to feel since I was a child on those old family trips, and taking the trailer camping has become my favorite way to regenerate, step back and consider life, and get a new perspective on problems I just can't solve outside of the wilderness. What's more, in a couple years I look forward to introducing my own children to the joys of a weekend.
